Interstellar Technologies (“Interstellar”), a leading space infrastructure company, announces the appointment of Satoshi Nakayama, currently Director and Vice President of Launch Vehicle, as Representative Director and President, effective February 1, 2026. Nakayama will serve as a Representative Director alongside Takahiro Inagawa, Representative Director and CEO, in a new co-representative leadership structure.
As a leading private space transportation company in Japan, Interstellar is working to realize the country’s first vertically integrated business combining launch vehicle services and satellite communications. With the development of the orbital launch vehicle ZERO’s first flight reaching a critical phase, the company must focus simultaneously in accelerating preparations for commercialization. By appointing Nakayama, who has spearheaded rocket development since 2021, the company is transitioning to a management structure that clarifies the responsibilities of the launch vehicle and satellite businesses facilitating faster decision-making. Through this change, Interstellar will strive even further toward the realization of its mission: “Empowering Society Through Space Infrastructure”.

Satoshi Nakayama’s Profile
After completing graduate school, Nakayama joined Mitsubishi Precision where he spent 12 years developing onboard equipment for rockets and satellites. He served as Project Manager for the development of navigation sensors used in Japan’s major launch vehicles, including Government-operated rockets. In January 2021, he joined Interstellar Technologies, where he oversaw avionics development, reliability engineering, and quality assurance. He was appointed General Manager of the Development Department in September of the same year. In May 2024, he became Director and VP of Launch Vehicle, leading all rocket development, and assumed the role of Representative Director and President in February 2026.
